COLLIER & LEE COUNTIES CONSIDER PROPERTY TAX REDUCTION

Collier County is considering lowering their property taxes by lowering the millage rate that is used to set the property taxes.

Thursday night, council members considered lowering the millage rate by 7.7-percent in 2007. But some residents still say that it is not enough to offset the skyrocketing increase in property values.

In a similar meeting, Lee County also is contemplating a reduction in taxes.
