WCI COMMUNITIES PULLS THE PLUG ON SABAL BAY

If you think seller's have been hit hard from the cooling real estate market. WCI has had their troubles too. In July, they layoff an unspecified number of employees. In August, they announced revenues were down by about 70% as compared to Q2 of 2005. Recently, they announced that would not move forward on the Sabal Bay project in East Naples.

That's not all bad news. This means less competition for the buyer pool. Marco Island should benefit as we are now seeing movement in the buyer's state of mind. They haven't officially jumped off the fence. However, they are leaning...
