The hotly contested Waterways ordinance will be discussed and potentially approved and the next council meeting. The detail from the note from City Manager, Bill Moss are presented below.

Be advised that the Marco Island City Council will consider adopting, on first reading, the Waterways and Boating Safety Ordinance. The City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Mackle Park Community Center, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The staff report and ordinance that will be presented to City Council has been posted to the City’s website www.cityofmarcoisland.com under “Hot Topics.” Revisions may be made before agenda distribution to the public on Wednesday, April 12th. The ordinance should be consistent with the consensus reached by City Council during previous public meetings, although the section pertaining to anchorage (duration, distance, and locations) has not been resolved by City Council as of this date.
