Marco Island Statistics - July 2007

As one of the historically slower month, July shows some positive signs of stabilization. Available and new listing on Marco Island are down from July 2006. Pending sales have slowed from last month. However, they are still in line with July 2006. Closed sales beat July 2006 by over 21%. As well, buyer sentiment remains high. Once we see these buyer's starting to pull the trigger on their purchases, don't be surprised if the rest start to follow suit.

Florida Working to Ease Property Insurance Woes

According to FloridaRealtors.org, our government is doing its job to curb our excessive property insurance rate and give us more alternatives.

Gov. Charlie Crist has ordered the state to examine whether insurance companies are following the state law that was supposed to deliver big savings to consumers, and if they’re working “in concert” in violation of antitrust laws. Regulators also rejected State Farm’s latest proposal to drop windstorm rates by 7 percent, saying it’s not good enough.
